Bob is “Highly Commended” in national building awards
Bob Wilson, a director of the EBL Group, was “Highly Commended” in the Construction Manager of the Year Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Builders.
Bob won his place in the final of the award scheme because of his involvement, on behalf of EBL, in the imaginative conversion of an 18th century Grade 2 listed barn complex into eight luxury houses, known as Sutton Chancellor, in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire. For more than 12 months Bob dedicated most of his professional life to the project.
A team of judges from the Chartered Institute of Building visited the finished project and decided to nominate him for their short-list to win the much-coveted award. The overall winner was announced at a special presentation evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, which was attended by Bob and his colleagues from EBL, together with representatives of the Porcelanosa Group – one of the world’s leading tile, bathroom and kitchen manufacturers, who supply the EBL Group. It was at the special evening that Bob received his Highly Commended accolade.
A spokesman for the Chartered Institute of Builders said: “To reach the final is a serious achievement and Bob Wilson has shown not just great professionalism but inspirational leadership and an innovative approach to problem solving. Some things have changed over the twenty five years that the award scheme has been going, but those qualities remain the same.”
