EBL come to the rescue following landslip
A STATE-OF-THE-ART drone and 100ft crane used by a Runcorn construction company have helped fix a 250-tonne landslip at a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Frodsham.
EBL Group has painstakingly repaired the landslip on London Road in a complex restoration project.
In September 2012 the red sandstone rockface collapsed as a result of heavy rain and erosion leaving a 25ft high pile of rubble, soil and rock strewn across a car park.
An expert team from the company has spent three years carefully reconstructing the 50-metre long stretch of land – which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of its unique geology.
Eddie Basnett, managing director, said: “We’re proud to have restored this land so that it’s protected for the future.
The area is a SSSI because of its sandstone rockface - which is very distinctive in this part of Cheshire - and we’re delighted to have brought it back to its former glory.”
